Summertime Grilling
Summer’s
here and the time is right for cooking outdoors!
Before firing up the grill, be sure to
stop in to Talin Market’s NEW Meat Department, where you’ll find
a huge selection of meats at cut-rate prices. Flank and Skirt steaks
work great for grilling or fajitas.
Looking to add a little flavor to your
next barbecue? Try a marinade.
Marinating helps to tenderize and season
your favorite meat dishes.
For an Italian flavor, simply mix
balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic and basil, marinate meat for 30
minutes, and enjoy!
Cooking light? Try
a dry rub.
Rubbing the meat
with spices adds flavor without adding fat or calories.
Here's a simple one
for steak:
Cinnamon and Chile Southwestern Rub
Mix together all spices and stir in olive
oil. Rub meat with mixture on both sides.
Grill or broil for 8 to 10 minutes per
side and slice on the diagonal.
Remember:
Always allow meat to defrost AND to marinate in the refrigerator. |

Lychees

June is the season for lychees! Available for only
a few short weeks every year, lychees are some of the most highly-prized
fruit in Asia.
This sweet and succulent fruit comes in a leathery, red
shell. The pearly-white flesh has the texture of a firm grape, and
is sure to please even the most discriminating person. There is
absolutely no other fruit native to the western world that compares to a
fresh lychee!
Forget the slimy, sugar-loaded "fruit" in a can!
The real thing is fresh, crisp, and refreshing. Keep them cold in
the refrigerator and serve them at your next summertime cookout. |
